Biography

Jesse Moeller is from Covington, Louisiana.

Halo 4

Bubu dubu first started attending LAN events during the Halo 4 season and he attended only two events, AGL 5 Nashville and RTX 2014. He played for Paragon and G4C Hydra, and he placed 9-12th and 13th-16 respectively.

Halo 5: Guardians

Bubu's first live event in Halo 5 was Iron Games Daytona 2015, where he ended up placing 4th as a member of The Aquarium alongside Exemplify, ROB THE TURTLE and Commonly. He then competed in the Halo World Championship 2016 NA qualifiers with an assortment of teams. He eventually settled on the Disobey roster of ContrA, PreDevoNator, and Call of Duty star Huke. The team was then eventually acquired by Denial eSports, in part because Huke had previously played for the organization in Call of Duty. Denial qualified for the NA Regional Finals after acquiring enough points in the online qualifiers. At Regionals, Denial upset 6th seeded Team EnVyUs, 4th seeded Team Liquid and 1st seeded Team Allegiance, making it all the way to the finals before losing a 4-2 series to Counter Logic Gaming and finishing 2nd. This marked bubu and his teammates' first ever appearance in the grand finals of a major Halo event. The Twitch chat during this tournament was the birthplace of the "bubu take my dubu" meme. Denial qualified for Halo World Championship 2016 through their performance. At Worlds, Denial finished 2nd in its pool after a loss to eLevate, but that didn't stop them as they beat Team Liquid 3-2 to advance to the semi-finals. They ultimately ended up losing 4-2 again to Counter Logic Gaming, so Denial placed top 4 and each player ended up taking home $75,000.

On April 10th, bubu dubu was released from Denial along with Huke. The next day, he and Huke joined Enigma6 Group alongside Cratos and Shooter. The team qualified for the Pro League at the Summer Qualifier. E6 finished 2nd in the League, notably being the only team to defeat Counter Logic Gaming in a series. At the Season Finals, E6 finished 2nd, losing in the finals to CLG. E6 made roster changes in the offseason, replacing the departing Shooter and Huke with Suspector and StelluR. Their first (and only) event together was 2050 Chattanooga, where they took 1st place. Shortly afterwards, as the Fall Season of Pro League was kicking off, E6 and StelluR entered a contract dispute, which ultimately resulted in his departure from the team in early October and the return of Shooter. During the fallout from the StelluR incident, Enigma6 were fined 5% of their season earnings by ESL due to misconduct. The new roster's first event was HCS Orange County 2016, where they finished top 6, eliminated through losses to Team EnVyUs and Team Liquid. Their next event together was UGC St. Louis 2016, at which they had a much stronger showing, defeating Team Allegiance and Evil Geniuses en route to a finals loss against a hybrid Team EnVyUs/OpTic Gaming lineup. Enigma6 ultimately finished 7th with a 4-10 record, winning only one match after the departure of StelluR and facing Relegation. At HCS Las Vegas 2016, E6 finished top 8 after an upset loss to 3sUP - a team they would be meeting at Relegation. E6 chose to face 3sUP in Round 1 and took them out in a very close 4-3 series. In the following round, they defeated Team Allegiance 4-2, saving their spot in the Pro League.

During the offseason, bubu and Shooter split from Cratos and Suspector, eventually forming a team with Falcated and Shotzzy. Despite carrying over two members from the Enigma6 roster, bubu's team was denied the pro seed in a controversial series of events which ended up awarding the seed to Pnda Gaming, featuring Cratos and team manager Showtime. Bubu's team began using the name Inconceivable following this. The new roster's first event together was UGC St. Louis 2017, where they battled out of the Open Bracket and took a top 6 placing, ultimately being eliminated by Str8 Rippin. At ME Las Vegas 2017, Inconceivable, now under the Splyce organization, looked to qualify for Halo World Championship 2017 with a placing of at least top 6. Unfortunately for Splyce, they were unable to qualify after losses to OpTic Gaming and Luminosity Gaming sent them home with a top 8 finish. At Worlds, Splyce were placed in a pool with Team EnVyUs and Team Immunity. Splyce pulled off an early upset when they defeated Team EnVyUs 3-1 in the opening match of the night and went on to win the pool. In the bracket, Splyce were taken out early in a 4-3 loss to Luminosity Gaming. They then swept SoaR Gaming and defeated FAB Games eSports 4-1 before losing a close 4-3 match to Str8 Rippin and going home with a top 6 finish.

Following Worlds, Splyce made a roster change, releasing Falcated and replacing him with Str8 Rippin star Renegade. With Renegade on board, Splyce won the Daytona Placement Cup, earning a spot in the Group Stage of the event. In Daytona, Splyce finished 2nd in its pool, notably trading wins with Team Liquid. They narrowly avoided an upset in a 3-2 victory over Lethal Gaming in Winners Round 1 before being knocked out by Team Liquid (in their third match of the tournament) in the second round. After eliminating Wise Gaming, Luminosity Gaming and Oxygen Supremacy, Splyce met Liquid once again in the Losers Semifinals and lost a grueling 4-3 series to take 4th place. Splyce had an impressive showing in the Pro League, losing only to OpTic Gaming and finishing second overall. At the DreamHack Atlanta Finals, Splyce won their first matches in quick fashion before a narrow victory over Team Liquid sent them to the Winners Finals against OpTic Gaming. Here, Splyce did the unthinkable, handing the OpTic roster its most lopsided ever loss with a score of 4-1. OpTic returned from the Elimination Bracket for a rematch, but Splyce stood their ground, taking the second series 4-2 and putting a cap to their Cinderella story and giving bubu his first event win, as well as teammates Shotzzy and Renegade. Returning unchanged for the Fall Season, Splyce had a more rocky run, finishing fourth overall. They had a similarly strong start at the DreamHack Denver Finals, sweeping their early opponents and taking out the formidable Team EnVyUs in four games. They met up with OpTic Gaming once again in the Winners Finals. This time around, OpTic stood tall with a 4-2 victory. In the Elimination Finals, Splyce were unexpectedly dominated by a hot Team Liquid roster, who took them out with a 4-0 victory and sent the defending champions home in third.

On November 13th, bubu and Shooter were released by Splyce and went their separate ways. Bubu found himself on team Ambush alongside iGotUrPistola, TriPPPeY, and Saiyan. The team was signed by Team EnVyUs mid-way through the Halo World Championship 2018 season. EnVyUs made history at MLG Orlando by becoming both the first team to defeat OpTic Gaming before the Winners' Finals, and the first team to sweep OpTic, in their 3-0 victory in the Winners Semifinals. They were defeated by Splyce in the Winners Finals however, and OpTic took advantage of the rematch opportunity in the Elimination Finals, defeating EnVyUs 4-2 and sending them home in third. At MLG Columbus, EnVyUs started off similarly strong, sweeping their pool and qualifying for Halo World Championship 2018, but this time around they lost in the first round of bracket play to Splyce. After narrowly avoiding an upset loss to Str8 Rippin in the first round of losers, EnVyUs swept Renegades before running into Splyce once again. Splyce took a 3-0 victory and sent EnVyUs home in fourth. At Worlds, EnVyUs convincingly won their pool and went on to narrowly defeat Renegades 4-3 in the opening round of bracket play. They were then taken out 4-2 by Splyce, resulting in a losers bracket rematch against Elevate. EnVyUs won the match 4-0 and went on to win their following match against Team Reciprocity 4-3 in a game seven which featured a Reciprocity member's controller disconnecting at a crucial moment in-game. In the losers finals, EnVyUs very nearly defeated TOX Gaming, but ultimately took third place after a 4-3 loss.

Trivia

  • "Bubu Dubu got his name when he used to cry alot when he lost."
  • "BUBU TAKE MY DUBU" has become a popular meme in Twitch chats whenever his team plays on stream.
  • After the Halo World Championship concluded, ContrA and PreDevoNatoR wanted to drop Huke and asked bubu dubu if he wanted to do that. However, StrongSide told him that his biggest regret in his career was releasing Walshy from Final Boss and because of this conversation bubu left Denial eSports to team with Huke.
  • bubu dubu won the HCS Raleigh 2021 Best Support Player award.
