Donald "CLaiM" Valdez is an American player for a currently unnamed team. He is known for his time with CheckSix Gaming and 3sUP.
Biography[edit]
Halo 5: Guardians[edit]
After making a name for himself in multiple Astro/Team Beyond online cups, Claim made his mark on the big leagues in Summer 2016, playing alongside Falcated, EccentriK and Exemplify as No Barber But We Tapen. The hungry amateur team finished in the top sixteen in the Pro League LCQ.
After sitting out the remainder of 2016, Claim returned to action in early 2017, attending the ME Las Vegas Halo World Championship qualifier as a member of Here 4 Fun alongside FlamesworD, Hunter Jjx and King Nick. The team finished in the top twenty in Vegas. For the LCQ the following week, Claim joined 3sUP alongside MoNsTcR, Rammyy and Nemassist, having briefly teamed with the trio in the weeks leading up to Vegas before being replaced by PreDevoNatoR. 3sUP finished in the top six in the LCQ and Claim left shortly after.
After his new team HolySheesh (featuring BabyJ, Brainstorm and KuavoKen) failed to make it into the Summer 2017 Pro League LCQ, Claim shifted his sights to the Open Circuit, joining French Toast Mafia alongside Rammyy, SickStory and Gabriel. After two weeks of strong finishes, Claim left French Toast Mafia and eventually joined Nerds alongside Artic, TireIron and Scaryotic, finishing poorly in their one week together. For DreamHack Atlanta, Claim and Artic teamed with Neastlake and Sceptify under Olympus eSports, finishing in the top twenty, just short of the Championship Bracket.
Claim briefly tried out for pro team Team Liquid during the offseason, but did not make the team. In the second week of the Fall 2017 Open Circuit, Claim and Artic joined VT alongside veterans Naded and D3M0N D. After establishing themselves as one of the top amateur teams, VT was signed by CheckSix Gaming. At DreamHack Denver, CheckSix were able to make it into the Championship Bracket, but finished in the top sixteen after back-to-back losses to Team EnVyUs (3-0) and Team CryptiK (3-2).
