Visal "eL ToWn" Mohanan is a Halo esports player, previously a player for Elevate. He has also played for teams like Team EnVyUs, Luminosity Gaming, Team Allegiance, and Ronin Esports.

Biography

Visal Mohanan was born on May 20, 1993. He has lived in Queens, New York, but currently resides in his hometown of Elmont, New York. He has been a gamer since he was a child, and his favorite Halo title is Halo 2. In his time as a competitive Halo player, he has won many local tournaments such as NJHalo, NYHalo and PAHalo.

Halo 3

TowN's first major event was MLG Meadowlands 2008, where he played as a member of Under the Pressure.

Halo: Reach

Halo 4

TowN competed on team Faded in Halo 4, where he experienced his first tournament win at AGL 4 New Jersey.

Halo 2: Anniversary

TowN joined Velocity in HCS Season 1 alongside Cratos, Nemassist and Suspector. They finished in the top 12 at Gamers For Giving 2015, but failed to qualify for the season finals. TowN was released from Velocity shortly after the conclusion of Gamers For Giving.

eL TowN skipped the first event of HCS Season 2, but joined eXcellence alongside Coby, UNLEGIT and Frosty for HCS Indianapolis. After some moderate success in the online cups, eXcellence placed in the top 12 at HCS Indy, which qualified them for the HCS Season 2 Finals. In this time, TowN also won the PGL 10k online tournament with his team "H5 Hurry".

Halo 5: Guardians

On October 25, 2015, Town was announced as a member of upstart organization Team Allegiance alongside Naded, Str8 SicK and Goofy. Early into Halo 5's lifespan, Allegiance replaced Goofy and Str8 SicK with Cratos and Suspector. The new roster dominated the Halo World Championship 2016 NA qualifier series, taking the highest seed in the NA Regional Finals. At the X Games Aspen 2016 invitational, Allegiance finished 3rd, earning Bronze Medals. At Regionals, Allegiance finished top 4, sweeping their group and defeating Noble eSports before being upset in the semifinals by Denial eSports. Regardless, Allegiance qualified for Halo World Championship 2016. At Worlds, Allegiance were swept 3-0 in their group by Team Liquid, but still managed to make it out as the runner-ups. In the first round, they defeated Renegades 3-2 after falling down 2-0 in the series. In the semifinals, Allegiance defeated Team eLevate 4-2, earning a berth in the finals against Counter Logic Gaming. They were defeated 4-0 by CLG, denying eL TowN his first major event win.

Shortly after Worlds, eL TowN left Team Allegiance and joined Team EnVyUs alongside Mikwen, iGotUrPistola and Rayne. The team qualified for Pro League at the Summer Qualifier. EnVy finished 3rd place in the Regular Season, notably having the most maps played out of any team. At the Season Finals, EnVy finished 3rd.

After the season's conclusion, eL TowN was dropped from EnVyUs. He eventually found a home on Luminosity Gaming alongside Naded, Danoxide and Eco. Luminosity had an up and down Fall Season, having impressive showings against the strongest of teams. After some struggles, they replaced Eco with Victory X. Luminosity ended up just missing out on qualifying for the Season Finals in the final week, finishing with a 6-8 record good enough for 5th place.

During the offseason, Luminosity made changes, replacing Naded and Danoxide with Ninja and TriPPPeY. At the new roster's first event together - UGC St. Louis 2017 - they placed in the top 8. After UGC, Luminosity replaced TriPPPeY with Saiyan. At ME Las Vegas 2017, Luminosity managed to qualify for Halo World Championship 2017 after a 4-1 victory over Splyce. They ultimately finished in the top 6 after a loss to Team EnVyUs. At Worlds, Luminosity were placed in a pool with London Conspiracy and Team Liquid. They finished below Liquid following a 3-0 loss and emerged in the Winners Bracket with a match against Splyce. Luminosity took the heated contest 4-3 and moved into the jaws of OpTic Gaming, who swept them out of the bracket. In Losers, Luminosity were swept by the eventual second place finishers in Team EnVyUs and went home with a top 6 finish.

After Worlds, eL ToWn looked to qualify for the Summer 2017 Pro League with a new team, forming Brownies with Prototype, PreDevoNatoR and Commonly. The team broke up after finishing fourth in the Summer LCQ. After skipping the first two weeks of the Summer 2017 Open Circuit, eL ToWn joined pro team Ronin Esports, playing alongside Str8 SicK, Suspector and Spartan. Ronin's performance did not notably improve with eL ToWn on board, as they ultimately finished in 7th place in the season and faced relegation at DreamHack Atlanta. In Atlanta, Ronin were able to defeat eRa Eternity in five games and move on to the Relegation Final match against Oxygen Supremacy. Ronin won the match 4-2, securing their spot in both the Championship Bracket and the Fall 2017 Pro League. Ronin were defeated early in the Championship Bracket by Luminosity Gaming in four games. They rallied back with wins over Wise Gaming and Invictus before being swept out of the bracket by eRa Eternity in a Relegation rematch and sent home with a top 8 finish.

Ronin released Spartan during the offseason, replacing him with Sabinater. After a poor start to the Fall season, Ronin released Str8 Sick, replacing him with Nemassist from the similarly struggling Naventic. With Nemassist on board, the team did not improve, finishing in seventh place with a 1-6 record. At DreamHack Denver, Ronin finished in the top twelve after losses to OpTic Gaming and Luminosity Gaming.

eL ToWn, Sabinater, and Suspector ended up sticking together going into Halo World Championship 2018 season, replacing Nemassist with Artic and originally competing as CbK before being signed by Fyra Gaming on February 9. At MLG Orlando, Fyra were able to go on an Elimination Bracket run and earn a top six finish before bowing out to Team Reciprocity. Shortly after Orlando, the Fyra roster were acquired by Elevate. Elevate finished second in their pool at MLG Columbus, After finishing second in their pool, safely qualifying for Worlds. They then lost two close matches to Renegades and Oxygen Supremacy, resulting in a top eight finish. At Worlds, Elevate finished second in its pool, losing 3-1 to Team EnVyUs. In the first round of bracket play, they lost 4-1 to TOX Gaming, but rebounded with a 4-0 sweep over Str8 Rippin in losers. In the following round, they were swept by EnVyUs and sent home with a top six finish.
