The Summer 2017 HCS Pro League is the third season of North America's professional online Halo league, taking place from May 24 - June 22, 2017. Halo 5: Guardians is played in 4v4 competition.

Overview

Downsized from the previous year's Pro League seasons, the Summer 2017 Pro League features each team playing eachother only once over the course of the season. In addition, the top six teams automatically qualify for the Season Finals at DreamHack Atlanta, with the bottom two facing relegation in the form of DreamHack Atlanta's Open Bracket. The surviving two teams from said bracket then move onto the Championship Bracket. Thus, it is possible (though unlikely) for an amateur team to come out of the Open Bracket and win the Pro League Season Finals.

Format

  • 8-team league, teams qualified through Fall 2016 season, Fall 2016 Relegation or Summer 2017 LCQ
Teams finishing 1st - 6th qualify for Championship Bracket at Season Finals
Teams finishing 7th and 8th qualify for Open Bracket Winners Finals at Season Finals
  • Roster changes permitted only during designated Transfer Periods (Jun 2 - Jun 11, Jun 16 - Jun 18)
Substitutes permitted on emergency basis
Players leaving a team outside of Transfer Period become ineligible to compete until fourth matchday of following season.
  • Single round-robin, best-of-5 series
