Biography

Jason Brown and twin brother Justin "Roy" Brown were born on July 6, 1990 in Illinois. Alongside his professional Halo career, Jason is an apprentice electrician.

Halo 2

Lunchbox began his professional career in 2007 as a member of 5K alongside Hokum, Fearitself and his twin brother Roy. The roster would stick together the entire year getting 4th in Charlotte, 5th in Meadowlands, 4th in Dallas, 5th in Chicago, 12th in Orlando and qualifying for Vegas where they would finish in 5th.

Halo 3

In 2008 he and his brother would form Instinct with Mackeo and Victory X for Meadowlands where they would finish in 3rd. They then swapped out Victory X for Snip3down and came in 2nd in San Diego. The original roster would unite once more bringing back Victory X in place of Snip3down for Orlando and would get a 3rd place finish. Mackeo and Victory X were then replaced in favor of Walshy and Soviet for Toronto and they would finish 2nd. The roster stayed the same for the rest of the year getting them 5th place in Dallas and 2nd place in Vegas.

2009 saw the team sub out Soviet in favor of Neighbor for Meadowlands and Columbus where the team would finish in 2nd and 5th respectively. Walshy was then swapped out for Ghostayame for Dallas where they finished 3rd. Ghostayame was then swapped with Fearitself for Anaheim where the team placed 7th and Orlando where they got 4th place. In 2010 he and his brother shook up the roster once again, recruiting Cloud and Elamite Warrior. The team placed first in both Orlando and Columbus netting the twins their first professional tournament victories. The roster would stay together the rest of the year, taking 2nd in Raleigh, 6th in DC and 3rd in Dallas.

Halo: Reach

2011 brought more roster changes for the twins as they added Totz and Tsquared to the Instinct Roster for Dallas and finished in 6th. They then swapped those two out for Ogre 2 and iGotUrPistola to round out the roster for the remainder of the year. They won Columbus and Anaheim before finishing 2nd in Raleigh. They then finished 5th in Orlando before winning the final tournament of the year in Providence. They played the MLG Winter Championship 2012 with the same roster and finished in 2nd place. Lunchbox and Instinct's final Reach tournament was AGL 2 Columbus, where they finished 1st.

Halo 4

The Instinct roster went on to play at MLG Fall Championship 2012 where they finished in the 9th-12th range. Lunchbox played without his brother at an event for the first time ever when he attended AGL 4 Chicago and teamed with Pistola, Sargoth and Cobys2Fast as Legendary, taking 3rd place.

Halo 2: Anniversary

Near the beginning of HCS Season 1, Lunchbox returned to competitive Halo, joining his brother on Evil Geniuses with Snip3down and Pistola. They placed 2nd at Iron Gaming Columbus, but were forced to replace Pistola with Lethul after Pistola injured his hand. The new squad placed 3rd at UGC St. Louis 2015 before winning Gamers For Giving 2015 and the season finals at PAX East 2015. Lunchbox and Evil Geniuses kicked off season 2 at Iron Games Atlanta 2015, where despite losing the first series of the Grand Finals to Denial eSports, they were able to fight back and win the extended series to take 1st, making it three straight event wins for Lunchbox and EG. Lunchbox and EG's dominance continued at HCS Indianapolis, where they won their fourth straight LAN event. At the HCS Season 2 Finals, EG finished in 1st as expected, despite losing the initial Grand Finals series to Counter Logic Gaming.

Halo 5: Guardians

The dominant EG lineup stuck together until January 2016, when Lethul opted to leave to join Counter Logic Gaming. In Lethul's place, EG picked up the relatively new Commonly. At X Games Aspen 2016, EG won the first chapter of the rivalry against Lethul, defeating CLG 4-3 in the finals and winning gold medals. At the HWC NA Regional Finals 2016, EG were defeated 4-0 in the semifinals by CLG, ending their historic tournament winning streak. Shortly after Worlds, EG dropped Commonly and replaced him with Suspector. The team qualified for the Summer Pro League at the PAX Invitational. At the conclusion of the season, EG sat in 5th place, not enough to qualify for Season Finals but enough to secure a spot in the Fall Season.

During the offseason, Snip3down and Suspector left EG. They were replaced by Ninja and Victory X formerly of Cloud9. EG started the Fall Season off strong, defeating the dominant OpTic Gaming squad in Week 1, but ran into resistance in Week 3, losing two straight 0-3 series. This resulted in Victory X being dropped from the team and replaced by StelluR. EG attended UGC St. Louis 2016 with StelluR on board, placing 3rd. Returning to the Pro League season, the new roster lost six straight matches, only managing to win their last two on Week 7, finishing with a 5-9 record just good enough to take 6th place and avoid Relegation. At ME Las Vegas, EG finished top 6 after wins over Most Wanted and Enigma6 and 3-2 losses to Team EnVyUs and Str8 Rippin.

During the offseason, StelluR and Ninja were replaced by ContrA and PreDevoNatoR. The new roster's first event together was UGC St. Louis 2017, and they went into the event with high expectations due to their combined LAN pedigree. Unfortunately for EG, they were knocked out of the event by Inconceivable and eventual runners-up Team Liquid, finishing in the top 6. A few weeks later, EG made the decision to drop PreDevoNatoR and promote the recently retired OGRE2 from analyst to player. The new roster's first event together was ME Las Vegas 2017, where they finished in the top 12 after losses to Team CryptiK and Splyce.

Following Worlds season, the twins and Towey again moved on, this time picking up Falcated from Splyce and Naded from Crowd Pleasers. At UMG Daytona, EG finished in the top 12 after losses to OpTic, Str8 and Luminosity, managing only to beat eRa Eternity in bracket play. The following week, both Naded and Towey announced their retirement, paving the way for the acquisition of Mexican phenom Tapping Buttons and the return of OGRE2 in a coaching position. EG struggled for most of the Summer 2017 season, posting a 3-4 record and finishing in fifth place, high enough to bypass the Relegation phase. At the DreamHack Atlanta Finals, EG were upset early by Oxygen Supremacy in a 3-2 loss. After wins over Str8 Rippin, Team Infused and Luminosity Gaming, EG took a hard 3-0 loss from Team EnVyUs and finished in the top six. Rather than making a roster change, EG went into the Fall 2017 season with an identical roster. They struggled harder than they had in the Summer, finishing in sixth with a record of 2-5. At the DreamHack Denver Finals, EG were defeated in the second round by Team Liquid. In the Elimination Bracket, EG defeated Team CryptiK in a close five-game series before falling to Luminosity Gaming 3-0 and finishing in the top eight.

After Denver, Lunchbox unofficially confirmed the retirement of Roy in a Twitch stream. As the Halo World Championship 2018 season neared, Lunchbox opted to continue competing, teaming up with the veteran Ace and aPG as well as rising amateur Neptune. The team initially competed as Instinct before being signed by Renegades on February 9. At MLG Orlando, Renegades finished in the top six, losing only to OpTic Gaming and Team Reciprocity. The fifth seeded Renegades were able to qualify for Worlds out of pool play at MLG Columbus. They finished in the top six after 3-0 losses to Team Reciprocity and Team EnVyUs. At Worlds, Renegades finished second in their pool, losing 3-1 to TOX Gaming. In the first round of bracket play, Renegades were narrowly defeated by Team EnVyUs 4-3. They went down to the losers bracket where they took out Team Infused 4-1 before being swept by Team Reciprocity and sent home with a top six finish.
