History

Halo 5: Guardians

StDx made its entry into the Halo scene on November 4, 2016, acquiring the SyA roster of Chris "Blaze" Chapon, Oguz "Burton" Ustuntas, Douglas "Musa" Musa and Tyler "Calm" Mozingo.[1] A top ranked team in the HCS Open Circuit, StDx looked to qualify for the Open Circuit Finals at HCS Las Vegas 2016 by finishing in the top 4 in the event's Open Bracket. Prior to the event, Musa was replaced by Justin "Hunter Jjx" Joseph. At the event, StDx came close, but could not seal the deal in the Winners Finals against Dynasty, nor the Losers' Finals against Pnda Gaming, resulting in a heartbreaking top 6 finish.

On December 20, Hunter Jjx retired, leaving StDx a player short. They filled out the roster on January 3, acquiring Joseph "TiZoXiC" Capetillo.[2] The acquisition of TiZoXiC also allowed StDx to enter the Esports Minor League season, replacing the departing Most Wanted roster. At their first LAN event - UGC St. Louis 2017 - StDx rolled through the Open Bracket, not losing a single match. In the Championship Bracket, they started off strong with a 3-1 victory over pro team Pnda Gaming. They followed this up with a predictable 3-0 loss to the juggernaut OpTic Gaming squad. In Losers, they were swept by Team Allegiance, ending their night with a top 12 finish.

The team with high hopes went into the Last Chance Qualifier in order to qualify for the Halo World Championship 2017. The team lost to GosuCrew Blue 3-1 in Winners Round 1 and dropped early to the losers bracket. They then lost to N2L 4-2 in Losers Round 1. After failing to qualify for the Halo World Championship 2017, StDx decided to release the roster of Burton, Calm, TiZoXiC, and JR2 with himself joining temporarily for the qualifier after Blaze left to be on SyA with Halo veteran Flamesword.
