Team CryptiK is an American esports organization.

History

Halo 5: Guardians

Team CryptiK made its entry onto the Halo scene on March 2, 2017, picking up top amateur team TBD - consisting of Ezekiel "Prototype" Martinez, Ryan "RyaNoob" Geddes, Troy "DasTroyed" Dusman and Hunter "BabyJ" Schline[1], a top ranked amateur team at the time. Going into ME Las Vegas 2017, the team looked to overcome the odds and qualify for Halo World Championship 2017 with a top 6 placing. They started off well with a thrilling 3-2 upset over Evil Geniuses, followed by a hard fought 2-4 loss to Team EnVyUs. In their first Losers Bracket match, they met Team Allegiance, who defeated them 4-2 in a tightly contested series. Following Vegas, CryptiK released BabyJ and picked up Devon "PreDevoNatoR" Layton. In the Last Chance Qualifier, CryptiK were able to defeat Splyce, Team Allegiance and Evil Geniuses, earning a spot in the Grand Finals, but Splyce battled through the Losers Bracket to earn a rematch. Splyce were able to win two consecutive best-of-7s to take 1st place and deny CryptiK a spot at Worlds.

During the offseason, Team CryptiK disbanded as the players went their separate ways. CryptiK made another move to sign a pro team, acquiring the TR: Merciless roster of Jason "Scaryotic" Ortiz, Sabur "Sabinater" Hakimi, Eric "Neptune" and Jonathan "Camper". This signing came shortly after the team defeated the highly regarded Splyce in an online qualifier. In the LCQ to qualify for the Summer 2017 Pro League, CryptiK were swept by Splyce and Brownies, finishing in the top eight. The team was released shortly after.

On October 11, 2017, CryptiK again re-entered the Halo scene, signing the pro roster formerly of Naventic - Cody "ContrA" Szczodrowski and three returning players - Prototype, RyaNoob and DasTroyed.[2] The team had a rocky start at DreamHack Denver, losing to top European squad Team Infused in the opening round. After starting the Elimination Bracket off with a 3-2 win over CheckSix Gaming, CryptiK took a 3-2 loss to Evil Geniuses and bowed out in the top twelve.
