eXcellence Gaming is an American esports organization that originally specialized in Call of Duty but now has spread into other games.
Halo History
Halo 2: Anniversary
eXcellence's first foray into Halo came on August 24, 2015, when they announced their debut roster of Justin "iGotUrPistola" Deese, Michael "StrongSide" Cavanaugh, Aaron "Ace" Elam and Eric "Snipedown" Wrona.[1] This roster attended the PAX Prime Showdown 2014, where they finished 1st. Following this tournament, the roster disbanded.
On November 23, eXcellence Gaming announced its intended Halo roster for HCS Season 1 - Corey "Bonfire" Howard, Brian "ShosTak" Shostak, Chris "Thing1" and "Sano".[2] Shortly after, they announced former pro player Tim "Xtrem1st" Golden as their coach.[3] On December 5, Thing1 was released[4], and shortly after, the organization announced the signing of "Exhale".[5] Less than two weeks later, Exhale and Bonfire were both released[6], and on January 5, the organization announced the signing of Thomas "BuilderBbody" Horton and Michael "NineBlade" Johnson.[7] Sano left during this period at an unspecified time, and was replaced by "Magna" for the next three HCS Cups. Between February 3 and 8th, the eXcellence roster fell apart and disbanded as the organization's sister team eX Black became the primary roster.
At the beginning of HCS Season 2, eX Black dropped the side title from its name and began competing under the primary banner with the roster of Coby "Cobys2Fast" Yamauchi, Egan "Wolfmayyne" Woolf, Kevin "UnLegit" Smith and Alex "SwiftKill" Ramirez. Prior to Iron Games Atlanta 2015 - eXcellence made a last minute roster change, replacing Wolfmayyne with Tyler "Spartan" Ganza. With Spartan, the team finished in the top 12. Shortly after, Spartan and Swift Kill were replaced by Bradley "iTz So Frosty" Bergstrom and Visal "eL ToWn" Mohanan. The new roster had a string of strong performances in HCS Cups, finishing below the top 8 only once. At HCS Indianapolis 2015, they finished in the top 12 and qualified for the HCS Season 2 Finals as the 8th seed. At the finals, they finished in 7th - 8th place.
Halo 5: Guardians
During the off-season, the roster disbanded and Coby was left as the only member from the HCS Season 2 roster. On October 15, eXcellence announced its new roster of Coby, Cpt Anarchy, Sargoth and LifeStyle.[8] On November 23, the roster fell apart as Anarchy, Sargoth and LifeStyle were released.
